DALLAS, Sept 13, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Centex (NYSE: CTX), one of the nation's largest and most admired home builders, received the highest customer satisfaction ranking in 13 out of 34 markets surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates. The company's highest ranking in 13 markets this year is an increase from 10 markets in 2005.

Centex also earned 15 "top five" rankings in 13 additional markets in the 2006 New-Home Builder Customer Satisfaction Study(SM). This is Centex's fifth consecutive year to be ranked highest in customer satisfaction in one or more markets by America's new homeowners. (*Centex earned a top 5 ranking for both its Centex Homes and Fox & Jacobs brands in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Inland Empire, Calif., markets.)

Known as one of the highest honors in the home building industry, the J.D. Power and Associates rankings are based on responses of buyers of newly built single-family homes who provided feedback after living in their homes from four to 18 months. The study ranks home builders on several factors:
